History

In 1951, the International Association of Adaptive Sciences was originally known in New York as Locational Motor Math with a new profession in Adaptive Educational Sciences (AES). In the early 1970’s, Locational Motor Math, Inc., a non-profit educational institution was incorporated in Connecticut. In the 1980’s, it was expanded and incorporated as the College of Adaptive Educational Sciences, Inc., in Florida and New York. Presently, IAAS is based in the State of Florida, in the U.S.A., and accredits all Adaptive Sciences Programs, worldwide. It is the only accrediting body capable of accrediting the Adaptive Sciences.

Founder - The founder of the Association, Dr. Leslie Panchula, is a Native American Croatan Cherokee Princess and practicing Clinical Psychologist and AES Therapist. By using the basic tools of learning and perception taught to her by her ancestors, Dr. Panchula created the Adaptive Educational Sciences.  Continued research and clinical practice convinced her that she had discovered a revolutionary method for addressing a large number of handicapped and dysfunctional as well as gifted learning problems. She further realized she was able to use Adaptive Educational Therapy for achieving optimal wellness, creative self-actualization and personal empowerment. With foresight and determination, Dr. Panchula recognized the importance of her discovery and has continued to dedicate her life to this institution, that will eventually serve as an educational forum for people of the world.

Our
Philosophy - The faculty, administration and staff of the International Maritime University of Adaptive Sciences are dedicated to exploring more effective and creative methods for achieving total self-actualization. Its innovative program of studies include a number of techniques for improving innate sensory and perceptual abilities by utilizing a total body approach to the life sciences of wellness, longevity, personal empowerment and the creative process.  By integrating studies of ancient cultures with state of the art techniques developed by modern academicians, scientists, artists and human engineers, the Association has developed a unique curriculum that focuses on mind expansion, body rejuvenation and spiritual growth through enrichment, as well as the foundation of all hard, basic sciences.
